Organic APY, sBTC Rewards, Boosted Rewards: What’s the difference?

Updated over 3 months ago

1. Organic Yield

Earned by: Depositing into a Liquidity Pool.
Source: Trading fees paid by traders swapping in the pool.

Mechanism:

  • Every trade in the pool generates a fee.

  • That fee is automatically collected and distributed to LP token holders (proportional to their share).

  • The value those LP tokens represent increases overtime as the pool collects trading fees.

  • Value accrued is claimable when removing your LP position.

⭐️ Exception include USDA/aeUSDC pool, which requires Staking to Earn Fees and are claimable daily.

2. sBTC Program (Rewards)

Earned by: Depositing into a liquidity pool.
Source: The sBTC Rewards Program is powered by a group of Stackers “Stacking” STX to a designated reward address, contributing their BTC rewards to the program.

Mechanism:

3. Boosted Rewards (Stacking)

Earned by: Staking LP tokens in select pools in the Earn Page
Source: Bitflow Promotional Rewards and/or Third-party protocols emissions

  • Bitflow Promotional Rewards are a limited-time incentive campaign offering rewards for staking your LP tokens.

  • Third-party protocols emissions may be modified, paused, or discontinued at their discretion.

Mechanism:

  • Rewards are claimable daily via the Earn tab.

❓Frequently Asked Questions

What are LP tokens?

When you add liquidity to a pool, you receive LP (Liquidity Provider) tokens that represent your share of the pool. These do not increase in quantity, but the value they represent grows over time as the pool earns trading fees.

What is Organic APY?

Organic APY is earned by being in the pool. It comes from trading fees and is auto-compounded. You don't claim it daily — you realize the value accrued during your time in the pool when you remove your LP position.

What is staking?

Staking in Bitflow allows you to lock LP tokens in select pools to qualify for:

  • Claimable Rewards (Promotional or 3rd-party emissions)

  • Points Multipliers (for Bitflow XP programs)

Some pools only offer one or the other. Some offer both. Even if promotional rewards have ended, users can stake to qualify for the Points Multiplier.

What Are Boosted Rewards (Staking)?

These are bonus tokens you get by staking LP tokens in select pools. They show up in the Earn tab.

I Staked. Why Don't I See Claimable Rewards?

Because not all pools offer emissions. You might:

  • Be in a pool that only gives Organic APY (no claimable tokens)

  • Be in a pool where emissions have ended (but points multiplier still applies)

How is Earning Yield & Rewards in the USDA/aeUSDC different from other pools?

Unlike other pools, USDA/aeUSDC requires staking to earn Organic APY.

  • The rewards are claimable daily in the Earn tab.

What is a Points Multiplier?

When you stake LP tokens in some pools, you get a multiplier (e.g., 2×, 4×) on your Bitflow Points earnings. Even if no emissions are active, the multiplier still applies.
